Dear Prospective Resident;

We are thrilled you have taken an interest in Balfour Beatty Communities, Naval Station Newport. It is our goal at NAVSTA Newport to help you find your new home while experiencing incredible service that sets up apart from the rest. For your assistance, we have provided you with the follow information regarding your future home.

Prospective residents must submit an application for housing.  Applications can be made on-line on our website or by faxing it to us at 401-847-5394.

In addition, you will need to provide:

• A copy of your official orders bringing you to NAVSTA Newport
• A current LES
• A copy of your page 2

Please contact NAVSTA Newport’s Navy Housing personnel at 401-841-2232, or email Mrs. Jayme Thibault at jayme.thibault@navy.mil.  She will request your information and necessary documentation to ensure you qualify for the housing. 

Once assigned a home, Balfour Beatty Communities will be in contact with you to give you necessary information on the home, set up appointments for signing the lease and moving in, and also provide assistance as questions arise during your move-in process. 

The Community Management Office is located at 369 Greene Lane, Middletown, Rhode Island 02842.

The following information is provided for your convenience:

• Once you have arranged phone, service please provide our office with the number.
  
  
• Renter’s Insurance: additional renter’s insurance is recommended.
  
  
• Move in Day: Once you are offered a home, the move-in orientation is usually scheduled in advance during normal business hours. Please allow 45-60 minutes to review and sign the necessary paperwork.
  
  
• Please remember that we will prorate the month you move in and that all monies for that month are due at move in and must be paid by CERTIFIED FUND or CREDIT CARD. (i.e. cashiers check, money order or bank draft) The allotment option can only be started on the 1st of the month and will be withdrawn twice from your LES on the 15th and 1st of every month as allotments are paid in arrears.
  
  
• Lease Agreement: Lease is for 12 months. Please do not hesitate to ask the Resident Specialist, assisting with your orientation about anything you do not fully understand.
  
  
• Box Disposal: After unpacking your boxes, please remember to flatten them and dispose of them with your recyclables.
